Privacy policy

Last updated July 22, 2026

This policy explains how PennyQuest collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PennyQuest app, website, and related services.

PennyQuest is intended for people age 13 and older. We recommend parental supervision for younger collectors.

Information we collect

Account information

We may collect your email address, display name, profile details, authentication information, and account settings.

Collection and trip information

We store the machines and penny designs you mark as visited or collected, along with trips and saved stops you create.

Community contributions

If you submit a machine, verification, report, note, or photo, we collect the content you provide and information needed to review and publish it.

Location information

With your device permission, PennyQuest may use your approximate or precise location to show nearby machines, center the map, and support location-based features. PennyQuest does not require location access for basic browsing.

Technical information

We may receive basic device, application, diagnostic, and network information needed to operate, secure, and improve PennyQuest.

How we use information

  • Provide accounts, maps, collections, trips, and community features.
  • Review submissions and keep machine information accurate.
  • Prevent abuse, investigate problems, and protect the service.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and account requests.
  • Understand and improve reliability and usability.

Sharing and public contributions

We do not sell your personal information. Approved machine information and photos may become visible to other PennyQuest users. Your display name may be shown as the contributor or verifier unless the contribution becomes anonymous after account deletion.

Retention and account deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate and protect PennyQuest. You may request deletion from the app. Account details, private collection data, trips, and pending contributions are deleted. Approved community information may remain so the public machine catalog stays useful, but it will no longer identify you as the contributor.

Your choices

You can update your profile, control device permissions, sign out, or delete your account. You may also contact us to ask about your information or report a privacy concern.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PennyQuest evolves. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
